Pilot Testing Capabilities

The APV Distillation Testing Center is located in Getzville, NY. The distillation lab includes gas chromatography analysis, Karl Fisher titration, as well as qualitative fouling analysis through the use of glass equipment. Testing is used to provide the following characteristics of the individual separation processes.

• Obtain basic design data: theoretical plates & liquid to vapor ratio
• Confirm computer simulation
• Investigate effects of impurities
• Optimize design
• Provide samples for evaluation by customer
• Look for potential fouling problems
• Observe any foaming tendency
• Assists in selection of preheater design
• Reveals unexpected problems
