Product safety and quality
Product
safety and quality are essential to maintain brand identity. A
product recall would not only be costly in the near term, but could
have long term implications in terms of damage to the brand. Whilst
quality control has always been considered important, food safety
has now become one of the most commonly debated issues of today,
with the topic at the forefront of consumer awareness, government
legislation and retailer requirements.
Continuous investment in compliance and inspection ensures that quality management is instilled in every step of the production process. As the regulations demanded across the world come into effect, food companies and manufacturers will be obliged to maintain records for each batch of food.
This is where an APV system can play a critical role. Batch oriented lot tracing and tracking is an embedded feature inside the APV Batch Management System. All batch information, including events, process data, production information, material usage, operator comments and actions as well as the equipment used to produce the associated batch are logged.
According to Mr. Leroux, Production Director of the Pernod factory in Thuir, France, "The new APV process and automation system allows us to improve plant capacity and achieve a consistently high product quality. Based on the plant intelligence provided by the APV Production Server, we can analyse all relevant process parameters for a sustained high performance.
